Anterior Cruciate Ligament rupture represents one of the main injury of knee, especially in young and active persons. Its reconstruction is the main treatment in patients that wish to return to sport and participate in an active life. Usually, the results of standard surgery in general poulation are very positive, with a success around 95%; however, in Competitive and Professisonal athletes, the risk of failure is higher due to the continuous exposure to the risk of knee sprains.

For this reason, Competitive and Professional Athetes requires a special care and customized surgical techniques. In fact, depending on the type of sports, different technique should be applied regards to the type of tendon used to reconstruct the cruciate ligament (patellar tendon, quadriceps tedondon, hamstrings or tendons from donors), possible additional ligament repair, concomitant procedures or type of meniscal treatment.
